50 to 70 million Americans have sleep disorders. Sleep apnea is the number 1 sleep disorder. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is the most common type of sleep apnea. Comes from the collapse of the soft tissue of the upper airway during sleep. Occurs in 9% of males and 3% of females in North America. The strongest risk factor for OSA is obesity, a BMI ≥ 30 And age older than 65 years. Sleep apnea increase cardiovascular risk Increasing inflammation and endothelial dysfunction. Alcohol can aggravate OSA.

Simple Things You Can Do to Reduce or Eliminate Obstructive Sleep Apnea
