What Does An Ounce of Nuts Look Like?
Nuts have been shown to reduce cardiovascular risk, assist in weight loss and increase satiety. They are rich in fiber, protein, good fatty acids and antioxidant compounds when eaten whole. Caution if eating to many because fat is 2.5 the calories per gram of a carbohydrate or protein (9 calories per gram versus 4 calories per gram).
Eating a palm full of nuts is consuming about 250-300 calories. So unless very physically active keep the nut consumption to a palm full or less per day.
